LA-based duo Junaco release their latest sun-drenched single, “Blue Room.”
The project formed in the highlands of Northern California from the songwriting partnership of Shahana Jaffer and Joey LaRosa. Centering their sound on glistening dream pop soundscapes, the duo self-released their debut EP AWRY in 2019.
Now, the band is prepping to release their untitled followup EP and have shared a first taste with “Blue Room.” The track was produced by James McAlister, best known for his work with Sufjan Stevens, Taylor Swift and The National to name a few.
Jaffer’s vocals lead with a confident poise while the song’s momentum builds steadily with each passing moment. Recreating an image of a convertible cruising along the Pacific Ocean highway with the top down, no destination set while the cool breeze caresses your face.
“I think this whole record reflects on that; focusing on the beauty in the simplicity of life,” says Jaffer in a press release.
