In the current midst of societal collapse, our nation’s capital has continuously spawned a host of bands that break against the fold emboldening a close knit scene to question the authority of where our “leaders” seem to guide us. DC’s Tosser have been one of the many hosts of bands that have been calling eyes to look back on the city once again, along with Knife Wife and Too Free. Residing to a basement, frontman Eric Zidar would often take to creating the songs that would go onto form the band’s two debut EP’s in the twilight hours when your bodies exhaustion from the daily grind of modern life would leave you in a haze of confusion. The group has toured relentlessly since the start, hustling for shows across the east coast and during not the best of seasons, but this determination would earn them a following plus slots joining indie starlight’s Soccer Mommy, Girl Band, Omni, etc. Now the quartet is set to self release their debut album Total Restraint, and we’re thrilled to premiere its stirring second single, “Bent Out”.
A constant drum lead hastens the band in an anxiety fast-paced rhythm that soon spirals into a triumphant power pop driven anthem with Zidar’s hard to decipher lyricism on displacement among the changing emotional tide that makes living so worth it. Shades of noise clash with moments of acoustic guitars and eerily heart-pounding bass notes that drives like a Title Fight track. Clocking in at just over two-minutes, Tosser pits the degrees of influences that are worn on their sleeve to morph into a unique blend of impassioned songwriting.
Total Restraint is due out February 21st, you can preorder here and checkout their upcoming live dates below…
